Our Mission
Emagination educates, entertains and helps develop healthy kids.
Our summer team of counselors and leaders are the most important
ingredient in achieving our mission. Great counselors make the camper
experience one of exploration, learning, fun and personal growth
and development.
Our Programs
At
Emagination Computer Camps we operate summer technology camps
for children ages 8-17. The program balances technology learning
with an abundance of fun traditional summer camp activities.


Positions are available for Technology Counselors, Recreation Counselors,

Lifeguards, Network
Administrators and camp leadership staff.

At
Emagination Game Design we deliver a special program for teens
ages 15-18 who are serious about learning the video game design
and development process as it is practiced in the industry today.


Positions are available for Instructors and Program Director.

What Does it Take to Join Team Emagination?

You need to have a passion for technology, enjoy being with kids and want to teach,
lead and have fun.


You need to be a positive person who is enthusiastic, hardworking
and flexible.


You need to be energetic with stamina because working with kids
is challenging and
the
schedule is rigorous.


You need to have some of the skills needed to successfully deliver
our programs.


You need to be at least 18 and have graduated
high school.


You need to be able to get yourself to/from the campus location
where you will work
(we
pick up/drop off at nearby airports/terminals).


You need to be willing to live on campus for the duration of your
employment.

If you have skills and experience in sports and recreation you may
qualify to be a
Recreation
Counselor or Program Coordinator.


If you have a current Lifeguard certification you may be a Lifeguard
in addition to another
job such as Technology Counselor or Recreation Counselor.


If you have experience working with large groups of children and
you have
leadership
and administrative skills you may qualify to be an Assistant
Camp
Director,
Program Coordinator or Leadership
Program Coordinator.


If you have experience managing a team and working with large groups
of children
and
you possess strong leadership, organization and administrative skills,
you may qualify
to be a Camp Director.

If you have experience on a game development project or you have
studied game
design
as an undergraduate or graduate student and you are proficient with
3D
Studio
Max and willing to learn FPS
Creator from the Game Creators Ltd, you may
qualify
to be an Instructor. If you also
have prior management and administrative
experience
working with students you may qualify to be Program
Director.

We pick you up and drop you off at the airport or other transportation
terminals.


Healthcare


The Massachusetts camp has a nurse and the other camps have health
 supervisors
to assist with meds and minor medical issues.

Online. New staff applicants will view a short slide show that
describes working at Emagination then it's on to completing the
application which takes about 45 minutes. We will get back to you

Computer Camps
Technology Counselor
If you have tech skills and like working with kids we have the best
summer job ever! Technology Counselors teach at least two of Emagination's
over 20 Tech Workshop offerings. You also supervise campers and
participate in fun camp activities. Qualified candidates have knowledge
of the tech topic and are proficient with the software. Please review

Recreation
Counselor
Whether you like basketball, soccer, swimming or just being outside
in the summer sun, we have opportunities for you. Recreation counselors
lead large and small group games and activities and are eager to
share a passion for recreation with campers and motivate them to
explore new activities that will benefit their bodies and minds.
Lifeguard
Lifeguards have the qualifications to be either a Recreation Counselor
or a Technology Counselor and hold certification as a lifeguard
by a nationally-recognized certifying body or equivalent certification.
Lifeguards also lead one to two workshops daily, supervise campers
and participate in program activities and weekend activities.
Program
Coordinator
Emagination is much more than technology! The Program Coordinator
is responsible for delivering the benefits of a traditional camp
summer experience by planning and managing Emagination's recreation
program, evening program, weekend activities and daily rituals.
The position requires experience planning and executing both small
and large group activities for children and you should be enthusiastic
about group games and being outdoors. Program Coordinators may also
lead one to two workshops daily, supervise campers and participate
in program activities and weekend activities.
Leadership
Program Coordinator
The Leadership Program Coordinator overseas Emagination's special
program for older campers who have applied and been accepted to
become what we call Program Assistants (PA's). The Leadership Program
Coordinator is responsible for hosting training sessions, coordinating
mentors and acting as a positive role model for participants in
this program. Prior experience working with teens is preferred.
The Leadership Program Coordinator also leads two to three workshops
daily, supervises campers and participates in program activities
and weekend activities.
Network
Associate
Network Associates work with the Network Administrator as well as
Emagination's corporate Director of Information Technology and the
host campus IT staff to set-up a mission critical network. You should
have experience with Windows environments and general networking
knowledge. If you don't mind periodic late hours and hard work you
will get hands on experience setting up and wiring computer labs,
maintaining and troubleshooting the network. A summer at Emagination
is an opportunity to earn internship credit while gaining real-world
experience! Network Associates also lead one to two workshops daily,
supervise campers and participate in program activities and weekend
activities.

Network
Administrator
Network Administrators work with Emagination's Corporate Director
of Information Technology and the host campus IT staff to set up
and maintain a network of 30-130 computers. If you want to work
in a time sensitive and mission critical environment, and you don't
mind periodic late hours and hard work, then Emagination is for
you. The position is an excellent opportunity to earn internship
credit while gaining real-world experience.
Qualified candidates:

Are competent to set up, maintain and administer a computer network
including
server, router,
switch and cabling.


Have experience in a client/server environment using Microsoft network
operating systems
(NT, 2000, 2003) and Windows XP.


Are able to configure a firewall, DNS server, WINS server, DHCP
server and VPN
using IPSEC.


Have knowledge of VLAN technology and architecture.


Have experience and competency with Norton Ghost imaging software.
Depending on campus location and network complexity, Network Administrators
may also lead one to two workshops daily, supervise campers and
participate in program activities and weekend activities.

Assistant Camp Director
Work with the Camp Director in leading and coordinating all aspects
of camp. Help ensure the successful and high quality operation of
our camp such that campers are safe and they are happy with our
program including its counselors, workshops, recreation activities,
weekend activities and accommodations. The position requires prior
administrative and supervisory experience in an organized camp or
similar program for children. You should be very well organized
and enjoy solving problems and interacting with both campers and
parents. Assistant Directors may also lead one to two workshops
daily, supervise campers and participate in program activities and
weekend activities.
Camp
Director
Many camp professionals wonder if a technology camp is really able
to provide children with the benefits of traditional summer camp?
The answer is yes! And we encourage you to find out for yourself
at Emagination. As Camp Director, you will manage a team of young
adults in the delivery of a camp program for technology-centric
children that balances technology learning with an abundance of
traditional summer camp activities. Your responsibility is to create
an environment for campers and staff that encourages creativity,
personal development, social development, self-confidence and independence.
You must have prior experience managing a camp or similar program
for children and possess very strong leadership, management, organization
and administrative skills.
Office
Manager - Massachusetts
The Office Manager facilitates the smooth and efficient running
of our summer camp office at our Bentley College camp in Waltham,
Massachusetts.
The Office Manager's primary responsibilities include providing
general administrative support for the Camp Director, including
answering a busy phone, replying to daily emails, tracking expenses
and direct interfacing with campers, families and staff. Qualified
applicants should have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal
communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel);
and organizational skills. Good problem solving skills, and an ability
to positively represent Emagination Computer Camps to campers, families
and staff in a busy but relaxed working environment is required.
Emagination Game Design
Program
Instructors
Instructors teach game design skills using Emagination's curriculum
and manage and guide development teams as the students build a playable
game that they present to a panel of game industry experts. Students
in this pre-college program are introduced to all aspects of the
game design industry, tour a game development company and work on
a team to build a game with original scripting, art work, music
and sounds. Qualified candidates should have an educational background
in game design or prior involvement in a game design/development
project. You must enjoy working with teens and prior experience
with teens is a plus. You must be proficient in using 3D
Studio Max from AutoDesk and be willing to learn FPS
Creator from The Game Creators Limited. The work is intensive
and the hours are long so you need to be passionate about designing
games.
Program
Director
The Program Director is responsible for coordinating all aspects
of the Emagination Game Design program. You will guide a team of
instructors as they deliver the curriculum and you will contribute
to classroom instruction and assist in managing the student teams
as they build their game. In addition, the Program Director is responsible
for managing student and staff behavior, coordinating the tour of
a game company and hosting evening speakers and our expert panel
on the last day of the program. You should have prior involvement
in a game design/development project, prior administrative experience
and experience working with students.
