Since 1982
Emagination has been a leader in summer technology camps for over
30 years.
Our mission is to educate, entertain and help develop healthy kids
& teens.
We design camp programs that encourage children to express creativity,
advance technology skills, enjoy exercise, make friends, learn independence
and develop self-confidence. We offer a core Computer
Camp Program for both kids & teens, plus a more academically
oriented overnight Game
Design Camp for 15-18 year olds. A
Balanced Computer Camp Program
The camper experience at Emagination differs from typical weeklong
technology camps. Our goal is to blend technology learning with
the fun activities and lifetime benefits of traditional summer camps.
Achieving our goal requires longer camp sessions. The Benefits of Two-Week Sessions
Our sessions last two weeks and many campers stay longer. Recent
studies suggest that longer sessions lead to greater personal growth
and development. Campers have time to become part of a community,
make friends and build self-confidence. Three Cutting Edge Technology Workshops Each Session
For beginners to experts, Emagination offers a huge selection of
technology workshops that use professionally developed curriculums
and some of today's most exciting software applications. Campers
select three technology workshops each session plus they

Tomorrow's technology professionals get a head start at Emagination.
Future animated film creators learn 3D Animation and create 3D environments
with objects and lighting effects. Future video game developers
don't just play games, they create them! Future IT executives learn
about computer systems and networks. Future engineers develop mechanical
skills by building robots or radio-controlled cars. Future software
developers learn a variety of today's important programming languages.
Recreation and Socializing
are Important
Many campers would like to be on the computer 24/7 but we believe
that recreation and socializing are essential ingredients for healthy
child development and a well rounded summer camp experience. Campers
spend one of four periods each day in recreation and overnight campers
participate in camp-wide large group activities. Emagination's Color
Wars program encourages campers to practice teamwork, try new activities
and develop new skills. Multi-Session Campers Get the Most from Camp
Attending more than one session is common at Emagination and it's
a great way to get the most out of summer camp. Multi-session campers
have the opportunity to experience closer relationships with fellow
campers and staff and they develop a strong bond with the camp community.
Multi-Session campers tend to come back to camp year after year
and Emagination becomes an important part of their childhood development.
Saturdays at Emagination
Day campers are invited to join overnight campers for a day and
night of fun activities that bring new friends together. At Color
Wars teams of campers and counselors play outdoor games and enjoy
a BBQ. At night there are LAN Gaming Tournaments and an option to
sleep outside, gaze at the stars and learn a little astronomy.
It's Worth the Trip! Campers come to Emagination from nearby communities, many
states and many foreign countries. That makes us very different
from local one week computer camps. It may require a family drive
or even an airplane ride, but we are confident you will find that
it's worth the trip.
Transportation Assistance Transportation
of overnight campers by Emagination staff members may be arranged
to and from airports, railroad stations and bus terminals. There
is a $40 charge each way. We assist day camper families with carpools
and we offer daily train station service in Illinois and Pennsylvania.
Campers Grouped by Age
with Senior Camp For Teens All campers at Emagination are assigned to small groups
with a counselor mentor. Kilobyte campers ages 8-10 eat together
and receive assistance with daily living activities and have earlier
bedtimes if they stay overnight. Megabytes ages 11-13 are the largest
group and form the core of camp. Campers in 8th grade or higher
before camp are part of Senior Camp which includes more independence,
free time and special activities.
Leadership Program for
Senior Campers
Seniors at camp may be invited to come back as Program Assistants.
PA's have responsibilities, a dedicated curriculum and special privileges.
They receive leadership training and play a supportive role in delivering
Emagination’s program. In addition, participation in the program
may qualify for community service credit.

Campuses Chosen for their Facilities, Not
their Name
Our camp locations are chosen for their quiet suburban locations
and the quality of the facilities --- classrooms, technology network,
dormitories, recreation and foodservice. We emphasize safety and
choose locations that are conducive to an enriching summer camp
experience.
A
Note to Parents from the Owner of Emagination
Hello from Craig (I'm with my daughter and twin boys in the picture
to the right). As the owner and Executive Director of Emagination,
Craig oversees and supports an experienced year-round team of camp
professionals who are dedicated to creating and delivering summer
camp programs that educate, entertain and promote social development
in your child.
Allison is our Director of Camps (She's with her young family in
the picture below to the right). She has been a part of Emagination
for over 15 years. Allison leads our camp teams during the summer
and corporate team in the off-season.
At Emagination we hire and train the best possible technology camp
counselors and furnish them curriculums that challenge and thrill
our campers. We also continually update
the "non-tech" parts of our program which are extensive
and critical to providing a well-rounded camp experience that goes
well beyond technology learning. To monitor and ensure high standards,
Allison, Craig and other corporate team members personally visit
each camp location during the summer.
Three of Emagination's four camp locations
are American Camp Association Accredited and all locations are operated
to the stringent standards of the ACA. Emagination supports the
American Camp Association where Craig serves on the board of directors
as Vice President and member of the Executive
Committee of the New England section. Allison helps in the accreditation
of summer camps as an ACA Visitor and she was a speaker at a recent
ACA National Conference.
My wife and I have three children who
attended summer camps and two became camp counselors. (As you can
see, Allison's son and daughter aren't quite old enough.) At Emagination
we understand that parents may be anxious about sending their child
to camp so we invite you to call and speak with a team member to
help determine if Emagination is a good fit.
"Danny
took the iApps class at Emagination and he just landed a programming
job for this summer -- not bad for a 16 year old! Emagination
really helped him get this job."
