Counselors Lead the Way
We strive to select and train only the best staff at Emagination Computer Camps. Some of our counselors started here as campers and some have been with us over 10 years! They are wonderful teachers, leaders and mentors.

Counselors & Campers Share the Passion for Technology
Counselors are recent college graduates and college students studying computer science, information technologies, multimedia arts and design or other related fields. All counselors are adults who share the campers' passion for computers and digital technologies and they love working with kids.

High Standards Mean Great Counselors
We recruit from a variety of colleges and universities, to develop a select team that meets our qualifications and high standards. Counselors go through a series of interviews with members of our management team. The hiring process also includes reference and background checks. We look for people who have both strong technology skills and experience with children.

Pre-Camp Training
Counselors arrive before the campers and complete Emagination's in person, on-site training and orientation program that has been developed over 25 years. We train our counselors in fundamental teaching skills and set high standards for delivering the curriculum of their assigned workshops. During this time, counselors are also trained to handle emergency situations and expectations are set for staff behavior and conduct. The Camp Director, Assistant Directors and selected counselors are certified in First Aid and CPR. Come opening day, staff are prepared for an exciting and challenging summer.

1:5 Counselor to Camper Ratio
Emagination operates at an average staff to camper ratio of 1:5 which significantly exceeds American Camping Association requirements. Technology Workshops range in size from 5-10 campers. We believe in nurturing the growth and development of campers one at a time. Our conservative staff ratios help us accomplish that goal.

Hi there! I'm Sarah and I'm the Camp Director in MA this summer. It will be my 2nd year at Emagination after 7 years of working at summer camps in NH. I graduated from Gordon College in 2007 with a degree in Youth Ministries. I love to travel with my husband and I also love playing volleyball - both on my league indoors in the winter and with my family and friends outside in the late spring/sporadic summer/early fall. I'm excited for another awesome summer at Emagination!

Hello, folks! I'm Jason, and I will be the director of the Lake Forest, IL camp. I will also be overseeing the Game Design program. I was born and raised on a small farm in Wisconsin and I have a Bachelors degree in Digital Entertainment and Game Design from ITT Tech in Green Bay, WI. I have held several positions at Emagination over the years, including Technology Counselor, Assistant Director, Game Design Program Director, and Camp Director. This will be my sixth summer with Emagination and I am really looking forward to another great summer!

I have had many years directing computer camps and will be returning for my third year in PA with Emagination Computer Camps. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and earned my B.A. at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and M.A. at Temple University. I currently reside in sunny Las Vegas as a middle school teacher. Even though teaching computer applications and broadcasting is my full-time job, I anxiously await the fun of the summer months at camp. I enjoy computers, video editing, tv, movies, Netflix, seafood, and Mickey Mouse. I spend my free time with my dog “Mellow” and all the activities on his busy calendar.

Hi! My name is Angel and I am the Camp Director for the Atlanta location! To say I am super excited would be an understatement! (as you can probably tell by all the exclamation points :) A little bit about me: I am originally from Brooklyn, NY; I am bilingual (Spanish), I have a Bachelors degree in Political Science with minors in African American Studies and Sociology and I also have a Masters degree in School Counseling. I am currently a middle school counselor in Alpharetta, GA and I LOVE what I do! I aspire to inspire others and I can't wait to be able to do so this summer!

	Hi I'm Cameron! This will be my 6th year here at Emagination, and I will be working at the Lake Forest location this summer. I love any good video game but especially a good Warcraft game. Outside of video games I love to play a great game of Ultimate Frisbee! I'm excited to meet all of you!

I am currently a Junior in college working towards a double major in communications/electronic media and marketing. This will be my first year with Emagination and I am thrilled to be apart of the team. I love working with kids, and am passionate about film production, editing, web and graphic design. I also am involved in sports, along with other various activities. I am looking forward to meeting you all! This should be an excellent summer :)

Hey everyone! My name is Greg, and I will be one of the Network Associates at the MA location this summer. I cannot wait to get started! In the fall, I will be a senior at Penn State, where I am majoring in Information Sciences and Technology, with a minor in Security Risk Analysis. When not in classes, I volunteer with the Penn State Dance Marathon as a Captain, helping to raising funds in the fight against pediatric cancer.

	Hey! My name is Joseph but everyone calls me Jake. I will be a Recreation Counselor at the Bentley University, Waltham, MA location. I am currently studying computer science at Midlands Tech. I enjoy playing PC games, shooting Sporting Clays, swimming, hunting and an occasional game of Magic if I can find someone to play with. I am excited for this summer and can't wait to meet everyone!

I have years of experience recording and producing music, and I have my BA in Commercial Music Performance. I'm also a music educator, and have been rocking out garages since I was a kid!

Hey everyone! I'm John, and I'll be working with the Game Design camp this summer. I'm a current student at Full Sail University, working towards my Bachelors of Science in Game Art. I was born and raised in the Greater Philadelphia area, where I graduated from the Pennsbury School District. I currently work as an Assistant Manager for GameStop, but am anxiously waiting to make the big transition from selling games, to making them! When I'm not working, or doing my homework, I'm usually either in the gym, or playing my guitar. Some of my favorite video game franchises are Anything from Blizzard, the Assassins Creed Games, and am anxiously awaiting the new BioShock game this year.

	Hi! I'll be working at the Georgia Camp this summer as a Technology Counselor. I was an Emagination camper for two years and I had a blast, so I wanted to give back and help others have the same kind of experience I had. I will begin studying Liberal Arts at St. John's College in the fall, but I am a hobbyist in the areas of game design and digital music, and they are very close to my heart.

	Hey, my name is Mike. I've been with the camp for over a decade, and this year I'll be returning as the Assistant Leadership Program Coordinator. I'm currently studying Music and Linguistics at Washington University in St. Louis. I love almost all music from classical to rock, the Zelda and Kingdom Hearts series, and for some reason, Food Network. I'm very much looking forward to this summer!

Though originally born in Pennsylvania, I've come to really enjoy Mass and I'm very excited for the opportunity to spend my summer here. It should be a lot of fun.

2012 CITs
The Counselor in Training (CIT) program is the last stage of Emagination’s Teen Leadership Program. CIT’s are selected from among the very best performing participants in the prior season’s Teen Leadership Program. They train with Emagination’s adult staff and assist them during the summer.

Hey everyone! I'm Brandon. I've been attending Emagination for three summers and I am very excited to be returning for a fourth year as a CIT in Massachusetts. Basically, I just fell in love with the workshops, the campus, the staff, etc... A little about myself: I love playing video games, watching movies, reading books [recently Hunger Games], and sharing my love of technology.... I can't wait to get to know you all better :)

	Hi! I'm Kevin. This summer I will be a CIT at the Lake Forest camp in Illinois. This will be my first year as a CIT, but I've been to the camp as a camper for more than three years. I thoroughly enjoy a good Warcraft game or programming, but also a good game of soccer or ultimate frisbee. I'm looking forward to going to camp this summer and can't wait to meet everyone!
