Common Camp Questions

Call or e-mail us with any questions you may have. We like hearing from you.

Do you use PC’s or MAC’s?
We use PC’s in most workshops and have a MAC lab at each location. There is one computer per camper in all workshops except for those that are designed for teams.

What operating system is used?
This summer we expect to use Windows 7 for PC’s and OS X for MACs.

What software packages are used?
We use over 20 different software applications and use the versions that are relevant to the curriculum being taught.

Can I bring my laptop from home?
You may bring your computer to camp but it is definitely not necessary and we are not responsible for any loss or damage. We highly recommend that you register any electronic equipment at the camp office for your protection. Your laptop must have current anti-virus software installed and running.

Can I bring my mobile phone?
Yes.

Can I bring my own Radio Controlled car to work on?
We hope you will but it is not necessary. However, if you have a gas powered RC car, leave it at home because the American Camping Association won’t let them on campus.

How many campers share a room and can I room with a friend?
Two campers share a room and we have some large rooms that accommodate three or four. As long as your friend also wants to room with you it’s no problem. Your parents and your friends parents just need to list each other’s name during online registration.

Do I get to play network and console games?
Sure. Network and console games are available during free lab times and gaming tournaments are part of the Evening Program. LAN gaming parties are hosted once each session.

Tell me about meals.
We have an all-you-can-eat format and a wide choice of food and drinks to keep the brain and body in peak shape. The choices are many and may include salad & pasta bars, grilled cheese, pizza, burgers, fries, chicken, soups & sandwiches and don’t forget deserts!

Vegetarian meals are also available and other special dietary restrictions and needs can often be accommodated. Tell us about your special dietary needs when you register.
