Emagination Game Design Camp

Overview

At Emagination Game Design Camp teens create a video game using sophisticated software and the same collaborative team-based process that is employed in the industry. Teens choose a role on a development team that reflects actual jobs available in the digital entertainment industry. They may be an audio artist, level designer, character modeler, programmer, etc. Under the direction of Emagination Instructors who act as Lead Developer, teams work together using a Design Document in Game Design to create an original product.

The program features studio tours and guest speakers who come to campus and speak with students about their industries and the technical aspects of creating digital art. At the end of the programs, teen teams present their completed product to a panel of industry experts who provide feedback and critique along with awards. After completing the program, teens will have advanced their technical skills, developed teamwork and time management skills and learned how video games are created by today's studios. The programs are intense but really fun and everyone has a chance to develop friendships with like-minded teens.
