Learn the Skills of Today's Design Professionals
Learn the technical and creative skills used by game studio developers. We put the industry's best tools in your hands --- Maya® and 3ds Max® from Autodesk, Photoshop® from Adobe and the Unreal Development Kit powered by Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games. .

Create 3D characters, images and backgrounds Learn design and function Construct menus Select or create music and sound effects

Learn programming Program a secondary object with function and reaction variables. Program a primary object and add controls

Join a Development Team Will you be a:

3D Animator Take the lead in creating the game's active objects----characters, vehicles and weapons. Animators work with the game's Programmer and Level Designer and create visual representations of the active elements agreed upon by their team. Level Designer Develop the game world environment. Create the background images, the lighting, the special effects and the color scheme for the menus and controls. Audio Artist Bring forth the emotive elements of the game through sound. Select the music and sound effects for the game's scenarios and levels. Story Writer Take the lead in creating the storyline that is the foundation for game play. Write the dialogue for characters. Create the text for the introductory sequence, win/loss sequence, game play, rules and level transitions. Programmer Contribute your ideas as the Development Team creates the concepts for all the art elements of the game. Then write the code that brings to life the graphical representations, sound and lighting elements and control functions. Game Tester Everyone's a Game Tester! Test your team's game and discover the bugs. Work out solutions before you present to the experts.

Gaming at Night and Daily Recreation
Of course there's console and network gaming tournaments at night (its research!) and time each day for games on the field and swimming in the pool.

Get Unplugged on Saturday
You need a break. Get Unplugged on Saturday in outdoor games and get ready for the Saturday night LAN party. You will have a blast with new friends at game design camp.

Typical Daily Schedule
Instruction begins at 9:30 AM and runs through the end of Inside Gaming at 8:00 PM. There will be breaks for lunch, dinner and daily recreation. Gaming and open labs run from 8:00 PM until around 11:00 PM.

Curriculum Developed in Consultation with Game Industry Legend
The curriculum for Emagination's game design camp was developed with Rick Goodman, the legendary creator of Empire Earth and Lead Designer of Age of Empires, two of the largest selling and most critically acclaimed Real Time Strategy games of all time. Rick has been a frequent speaker at our teen summer camps sharing his eight steps to creating great games.

The Rick Goodman Scholarship Program
The Emagination Foundation is pleased to offer the Rick Goodman Scholarship Program. This program was created to honor Rick's innumerable accomplishments in the video game industry as well as his contributions to the development of Emagination Game Design.

A select number of partial tuition scholarships will be granted to applicants based upon financial need and demonstrated interest in video game design and development. Students interested in applying for the scholarships may email Camp@ComputerCamps.com for application instructions.
